Power The Future On Biden-Putin Conference: "Trump Was Impeached For Less"

Washington, D.C. – Today, Power The Future Founder and Executive Director Daniel Turner released the following statement in response to the high-stakes call between President Joe Biden and Russian President Vladimir Putin. Today's call occurred as Russia has placed more troops on its border with Ukraine, raising concerns that Putin plans to take military action:

"We all remember the last major call involving Ukraine military aid: it led to the impeachment trial of an American president, which looks like child's play compared to what is happening now. Our European allies are at the mercy of Vladimir Putin to heat their homes this winter after they embraced the same type of green policies Joe Biden wants to impose on the United States. Now, we've not only lost American energy independence here at home, but emboldened leaders like Putin who are looking to expand not only their market share, but also their territory. Losing American energy independence isn't a talking point, it is a sad reality leading to real consequences. President Biden needs to let Americans produce the energy that powers our country and helps our allies, otherwise we risk heading down the same road Europe finds itself on today."

Earlier this year, the Biden Administration waived a threat of sanctions that green lit completion of the Nord Stream 2 pipeline, which would deliver Russian-produced natural gas to Germany and bypass current infrastructure in Ukraine. The Nord Stream 2 approval came after President Biden issued orders to shut down the Keystone Pipeline here at home. Biden's actions have not only delivered skyrocketing energy prices, but also troublesome international developments like those that were at the center of Tuesday's call.
