Dear Editor:

I'm sounding the alarm about the massive $1.75 trillion budget bill that Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer, and Joe Biden are about to drop on the American people.

This week, I was proud to stand with my colleagues Rep. Steve Scalise (R-LA) and Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY) to expose how this Leftist legislation would impoverish Americans. Click here to watch our video!

The past few weeks of Washington Democrat infighting might have been amusing for regular Americans to watch, but they were really arguing about one thing: whether this legislation would be terrible, or disastrous. Either way, our families lose.

Here are some of the worst provisions in the budget. Even a few years ago, any of these proposals would have been laughed out of Congress--a sign of how EXTREME Washington liberals have become:

• Imposes $1.2 trillion in tax hikes on American businesses, including $400 billion on small businesses
• Allows wealthy families earning $800,000 a year to receive over $100,000 in tax credits
• Subsidizes "green" special interests while hurting traditional American industries, funding a Green New Deal Youth Patrol
• Hires 85,000 new IRS agents to spy upon and harass American families by giving them access to our private bank accounts
• Gives Amnesty to more than 8 million illegal immigrants
• Perpetuates labor shortages by eliminating work requirements to receive welfare benefits for able bodied adults, at a time when there are over 10.4 million job openings.

Click here for an in-depth rundown of the legislation.

I promise to oppose these terrible policies at every turn. But it will take the efforts of all Americans, from New Mexico and across the country, to make it clear that they REJECT these bad ideas. We need a tax system that encourages job growth, lets families save and thrive, and keeps our businesses growing, and I will fight for these goals every day in Congress.

For New Mexico,

Yvette Herrell
