USFS back-burn scar absolutely destroying our private land. #blackfire.
They can spend five million day on "fighting fire" but then they pack up and leave. Thank heavens that catchers mitt (totally unnecessary here), "saved" the poverty creek subdivision where nobody wants to create defensible space.
Four ranches in this fire flood zone are being wiped off the map and zero mitigation is happening. We cant get hay in, propane, firewood, we have to four wheeler a half a mile to get to a borrowed pickup to hopefully get to Dr. Appts and groceries then shuttle things back over our sub irrigated pasture. There is almost no road left. We applied to NRCS, they are going to be too slow to help. It won't mitigate and things are going downhill fast. We have made no money for three months since the fire started. We've spent our savings. We wont be able to haul our calves if we can get them gathered at all.
Why is the agency allowed to do this and walk away?
