Short description: Tai Chi is an evidence-based movement practice that improves strength, balance and well-being. This particular form was created at the University of Oregon to address the specific needs of older adults and others with poor balance and diminished strength. The form itself consists of only 8 basic movements, which are gentle and relaxing. We also do breath work (Qi Kung), stretching, and other movements to enhance general health. We provide chairs for those who are unable to stand for the entire class. Wear comfortable clothing and sturdy shoes (like tennis shoes). Behind FACT at WNMU.
