When businesses and the art community work together - great things do happen. In this case, "Art in the Barn" is happening. It is a joint effort between the Red Barn Steakhouse and the Grant County Art Guild in putting together a fine art and craft show featuring an impressive array of local artists and crafters with the best in handcrafted items.

The Art in the Barn Summer Fest is sponsored by the Grant County Art Guild and happening at the Red Barn Steakhouse in Silver City from 10 a.m. till 6 p.m. on August 10. Award-winning artists, photographers and fine crafters from the Grant County Art Guild and other outstanding artists from the community will be showing their work for the enjoyment of all. Among the artists are Roz Springer, Carolyn Paez and Connie Thibeau. Well-known local photographer John Catsis will be showing his work. A variety of other artists and crafters will be there, including Dora Klein and her beautiful fused glasswork and John O'Brien will be showing his unique pieces of scroll saw woodwork.

And, as a special twist to Art in the Barn, the Red Barn is hosting a free tasting, giving visitors the opportunity to sample a variety of beers, liquors and wines from area breweries and wineries. Participating is De La Vega’s Pecan Grill and Brewery from Las Cruces who will be bringing "tastings" of their pecan beers and The Little Toad Inn and Tavern from the Mimbres will be bringing samplings of their liquors. An assortment of wines from area wineries will also be available.
