AmericanLegion RSAmerican Legion, 409 West CollegeComing soon, the 24 Club Annual home tour to be held on June 5, 2016 from 1:00PM to 4:00PM. This year's tour will be a walking tour of the West College Avenue/Santa Rita neighborhood of Silver City focusing on five historic locations including homes and professional buildings.

Allingham-Golding American Legion (5th stop on the tour) located at 409 West College. Dates from 1919 when a group of returning WWI Veterans met for the purpose of organizing an American Legion Post in Grant County. Allingham-Golding Post 18 is named in honor of two men who died in the cause of their county, Godfrey Allingham representing the US Army and Fredrick Golding, representing the US Navy. The Legion has recently undergone a renewal with inside and outside painting, new roof and new flooring.

Through the years, the Allingham-Golding American Legion Post has and continues to serve many groups, in addition the being a location for Veterans, including Boy Scouts, Senior Olympics, various youth organizations, and community organizations needing a location for an event such as the Tea House for the 24 Club Home Tour.

24 Club provides service with educational, charitable and needy projects throughout Grant County. In addition, 24 Club supports the Betty Cook Scholarship and the Christine Drangmeister Scholarship which are awarded twice yearly to Grant County women attending Western New Mexico University.

Tickets are available from any club member, Manzanita Ridge, Insurance First, Adobe Springs Restaurant, Ravens Nest and Curl Up and Dye. On the day of the Tour tickets may also be purchased at the Tea House which will be at the Allingham-Golding American Legion on 409 West College Avenue.
