lighted parade 3Pictured is a float from a previous Lighted Christmas Parade.Silver City MainStreet and The Village of Santa Clara are working together to promote both communities Lighted Christmas Parades. The Silver City parade will be Saturday, November 30 at 7 pm and Santa Clara’s will be Saturday, December 7 about 6:30 pm.

“The parades are for children and families and are about community, states Sheila Hudman, Town Clerk for Santa Clara. The children would love to see both parades and we are encouraging families, businesses and organizations to participate in both parades. There is some space available to store floats at the Armory, so if you make a float for the Silver City parade, you can store it for a week and have it in the Santa Clara parade.”

“This year, the Silver City parade does not have a theme, so you can use the decorations and lights you have to make a float, states Patrick Hoskins, Board President of Silver City MainStreet. We want to make it easier for everyone to participate in float making. Just make sure that it has child appeal and is well lit.”

To participate in the parades contact Sheila Hudman at santaclara7@villageofsantaclara.com or Charmeine Wait at Charmeine@silvercitymainstreet.com. You can also download a parade application for the Silver City parade at www.silvercitymainstreet.com. The application is right on the home page.
