Runners getting ready to start in 2020Silver City MainStreet is taking the Urban Challenge Fun Run virtual this year to celebrate Territorial Charter Day. The run has gained popularity each year, with 107 runners participating in 2020. Silver City MainStreet didn’t want to lose that momentum so pivoted with a virtual fun run.

This year the 5K downtown run can be done on a treadmill or out on a trail between February 5 and 11, 2021. Submit a photo of yourself on your run via facebook messenger or email. The entry fee is 3 cans of food that will be donated to the Grant County Community and WNMU Food Pantries.

Start of fun run in 2020Register for the run by January 28, 2021 to receive your Urban Challenge Fun Run t-shirt. Food drop off and t-shirt pick up will be on Saturday, February 13, between 10 am and 3 pm at the Murray Ryan Visitor Center. The Town of Silver City is sponsoring the race. 

There is also an optional, just for fun, Victorian exercise costume promotion. Take a picture of yourself on the run in your Victorian exercise costume and the first 35 will receive a $10 MainStreet Gift Certificate.
