Silver City NM, March 12, 2021 – On Saturday March 20, for the one-year anniversary of COVID lockdown in New Mexico, there will be a non-partisan, peaceable rally for freedom in Silver City NM. The rally will take place at Swan & 180 from 10 to 1 and will include people peaceably standing and walking around. Participation is welcome, and local residents can contact John Foldan, johnfoldan@gmail.com for more information.

This effort in Silver City is being coordinated by residents of Silver City, including members of the New Mexico Freedoms Alliance, www.nmfa.us. This is part of a state-wide effort in support of ending lockdown, with rallies the same day in Santa Fe, Albuquerque, Rio Rancho, Edgewood, Las Cruces, Roswell, Portales, Clovis, Deming, and other cities. Freedom rallies will take place the same day in dozens of countries all over the world, including Canada, England, New Zealand, South Africa, Denmark, Australia, Lithuania, Ireland, Poland, Switzerland, Italy, Spain, the Netherl ands and Norway.

Silver Cityorganizer John Foldan said: "Grant County and Southwestern New Mexico have suffered greatly in the wake of the Covid policies. Our businesses are closing, many people are in despair. We need to effect change in our towns, our counties and the state as a whole."

A lawsuit to end the lockdown filed against the Governor by www.nmstandsup.org is now in process in Federal Court. Ana Garner, the lead lawyer on the case, commented: "The lockdown in New Mexico is causing vast harm and is unnecessary medically. We have many pages of evidence and testimony to prove it. It also violates the U.S. Constitution, the New Mexico Constitution and all precedent of human rights and civil liberties. We call upon our elected representatives and justices to end this crime against New Mexico now."

Roswell organizer Jesse James of www.concernedcitizensfornewmexico.com said: "People can't take this any longer–and they shouldn't have to. The Governor's illegal and immoral abuse of power in New Mexico cannot be tolerated. Whatever party you identify with, it's time to raise our voices and say: "No more!"

The "No Lockdown–Yes Freedom" Rally is the first Statewide Protest to show that New Mexicans from diverse communities and belief systems oppose lockdown in New Mexico.
