Silver City -- The 38th Annual July 4th Ice Cream Social is happening Monday, July 4th, at the Silver City Museum, featuring a full slate of local musicians, food, friends and fun. The annual celebration and fundraising event takes place from 11 am - 4 pm, and all proceeds benefit the museum.
What says Fourth of July celebration more than grilled hot dogs and ice cream? Attendees will be able to buy tickets to be used to purchase regular or vegetarian hot dogs, lemonade, water or ice tea, popcorn and a variety of ice cream treats. Tickets can also be used to participate in scheduled events, including an old-fashioned cake walk and face painting.
A variety of free children's activities and games will also be available for family fun, and visitors will have an opportunity to learn more about current exhibits and programs at the museum, including the Chihuahua Hill History Project, featuring dozens of oral histories from residents of this historic neighborhood. Participants will also have an opportunity to share their stories, regardless of where they live.
Love to bake? Volunteers are needed to bake shelf-stable-style cakes of all kinds for the cake walk - no cheesecakes or ice cream cakes please!
