Snider FireTotemDeb Snider: Mandalas and fans, enjoying both the symmetry and meditative aspects of round, repetitive motifs. These designs are present in numerous cultures; my influences are from Buddhist and Celtic earth-based paths. My artwork takes the form of art quilts, drawings, and mixed-media collages. The Silver City Art Association exemplifies the artistic community spirit of our town and offers many creative opportunities to its members. It is a non-profit organization of galleries, studios, independent artists, and patrons and friends celebrating and supporting visual arts in Silver City, NM through regular meetings, promotion, events, education, and outreach.

The Annual Fiercely Independent Exhibit is the hallmark event of the members who call themselves Independent. A selection of work by 27 Independent Artists will be presented in this exhibition at Light Art Space Gallery, located at 209 West Broadway, in Silver City, New Mexico. Regular gallery hours are Thursday to Saturday, 11-5pm, and Sunday, 10-2. And by appointment at (520) 240-7075.

Beginning Thursday, November 9, during regular gallery hours, 11 to 5:00, this exhibit is open to the public. On Friday, November 10 we will hold an opening celebration from 5 to 7 pm, with refreshments and live music. Meet the artists. Experience a variety of art: clay work, paintings in diverse media, photography, montage, assemblage, sculpture, digital, and fiber works.
