THE OVERALL USA SUMMARY - October 29, 2022:

Weekly US covid new cases and deaths rose, and covid beds rose a bit. [page 5, 7, 8].
Three new sub variants BQ.1, BQ.1.1 and BF.7 are rapidly rising; [page 34].
Weekly Influenza cases, while still low, have risen for the 8th week [page 38, 39].
Weekly RSV cases, while still low, have risen in AZ and NM [page 40, 41]. And CO and TX are also rising.
Weekly Monkeypox cases, are still low, and continued to fall even lower this week.

OUR LOCAL GEOGRAPHIC AREA:

Grant County week on week cases rose to 91 this week up from 47 the week before [page 5, 16, 22].
Silver City, Bayard, and Hurley covid week on week cases rose [page 17, 18]. The good news is that Grant County covid hospital admissions were 0, however covid ED visits rose [pages 21, 23]. Deaths in Grant County 0, Luna 0, Sierra 0, Dona Ana 0 [page 15].

OUR STATE:

NM week on week cases rose to 2784 this week up from 2249 the week before; and positivity also rose [page 13, 14]. NM daily hospital bed usage rose then leveled [page 13, 14, 24]. Deaths rose a bit in NM [page 14, 15].

NEIGHBORING STATES:

AZ cases fell, beds, and positivity rose. CO cases, beds, and positivity rose. TX cases, beds, and positivity fell [page 9, 10, 11]

HOSPITALS:
US daily hospital admissions (7 day average): may be reversing up [CDC] [page 25]
COVID inpatient beds rose in AZ and CO. TX general decline. NM leveled. [HHS] [page 24]
Grant County ED covid like visits rose HHS (data lags) [page 20] and NM DOH [page 23]
COVID admissions in Grant County were 0 in the last 7 days (per CDC) [page 19],
but may have risen a bit (per NMDOH) [page 21]. Discrepancy not resolved.

This week: cases = 265,893, admissions = 3,279, deaths = 3,211, deaths/case = 0.81%, adm/case = 8.63%

US COVID BQ/BF sub variant days to double was 12 days (in line with recent weeks)
INFLUENZA: [page 38, 39] US show a weekly rise for 8 weeks now, however cases are still low.
US Flu this week: weekly: cases = 4427, admissions = 2332, deaths = 15
US Flu last week: weekly: cases = 2849, admissions = 1677, deaths = 34
RSV: [page 40, 41] AZ and NM show a steep weekly rise however cases are still low.
RSV: AZ on 10/08 weekly cases were: 66 and the week before: cases: 44
RSV: NM on 10/01 weekly cases were: 45 and the week before: cases: 28
MONKEYPOX: [page 42, 43].
US Mpox weekly cases: this week: 418 previous week: 567
AZ Mpox weekly cases: this week: 11 previous week: 19
NM Mpox weekly cases: this week: -3 previous week: 0 (NM adjusted down 3 cases)
