On Saturday, March 4, 2017, a spring-like day, albeit with a chilly breeze, welcomed visitors to Gough Park to support the nation's 45th president, Donald J. Trump.

About 35 members and friends of the Republican Party held signs, chatted with folks, and had postcards to sign and send to the White House. They also heard, sang with and danced to patriotic music. During the time this author was present, about another 15-20 folks wandered in and out, discussing issues, and eating a lunch provided by the party.

Those holding signs along the Pope Street reported having people drive by, stick out a hand with thumbs up while honking, and others, driving by gesturing thumbs down or other uses of fingers, and occasionally shouting invectives.
