The Village of Santa Clara Regular Meeting took place Thursday, September 13, 2018 in the Village Hall. Trustees Patricia Montgomery, Olga Amador and Rocky Hildebrand attended as well as Mayor Richard Bauch and Mayor Pro Tem Albert Esparza.

Under old business council accepted the fee increase for the cemetery. Previous discussion by the council resulted in recommendations from the cemetery committee. These fees pay for the opening and closing of gravesites and the new fee schedule took effect October 1, 2018.

Council renewed the uniform traffic code as presented by the state. Each year the village reviews and adopts any changes that have been revised by the state.

Council adopted the amendment to the ordinance accepting the regional wastewater user charge which coincides with the surrounding municipalities. Santa Clara, Hurley, Bayard, and the County will meet on a quarterly basis to discuss operations at the wastewater treatment plan. This allows the village to gain understanding of what is required of the overall project.

After a brief closed session, the meeting resumed and the recommendation was made to hire Maurilio Cardeno as the Public Safety Aide.

Bauch announced the next Regular Meetings of the Village of Santa Clara for Thursday, September 27, 2018 at 6 p.m. and Thursday, October 11, 2018 at 3 p.m. at the Village of Santa Clara Village Hall located at 105 N. Bayard Street.
