Friday evening, Dec. 6, 2019, the festive inaugural Jingle and MIngle took place on the Light Hall Patio at Western New Mexico University.
WNMU President Joseph Shepard said: "We want to bring the families of Silver City together over the holidays and create a tradition that our students, faculty and staff can enjoy and return for year after year."
WNMU Cultural Affairs scheduled a full line up of performances by local musicians, including WNMU Mariachi Plata, Brandon Perrault Duo, Silver High School Choir and Silver Chorale. Seasonal treats were served, and attendees could take photos in front of wintery backdrops as well as purple- and gold-festooned tannenbaums. Santa attended, and the first-year event also included an ugly sweater contest.
