 Grant County Ag/4-H Agent Jessica Swapp received an award for the New Mexico Association of Extension 4-H Agents in the Communicator Category Radio Program for her newest venture with “The Extension Connection Podcasts”. This innovative approach to Extension Education has been met with a great following with listeners as far away as Australia.

Currently there are 6 episodes, which are about 15 – 20 minutes in length and topics include: Ag Extension overview and history; New Mexico Master Gardener Program with Eduardo Servin, Program Manager; the NM 4-H Program with Dr. Steve Beck, Extension 4-H Department Head; State 4-H Events with 4-H Youth Specialist Mindy Turner; Copper CowBelles officer roundtable and Cattle Ranching in New Mexico; and a discussion with a new generation 4-Her and FFA member, Sarah Gardner on the future of Ag. Swapp, a Luna, NM native, has been with the Grant County Extension Program for 4 years. She has her undergraduate Bachelor of Science degree from NMSU in Agricultural Economics and Ag Business and a Master’s Degree from Texas A&M in Agricultural Leadership, Education and Communication.
