On Tuesday, April 7, 2020, two blocks south of the Shady Grove Trailer Park, at the corner of N. Gold and E. 15th streets, Silver City Police Department officers were dispatched in reference to shots fired toward a residence. Witnesses told the officers they heard 4-6, at least 8, and multiple shots, some of which were heard striking the residence of a 62-year-old witness while she was inside. This witness, who was very shaken up, a police report stated, said bullet holes could be seen on the east side wall of her residence.

According to the police report, a 25-year-old male witness told officers he saw a young-looking male wearing a black hoodie run from the scene on 13th Street, past Gold street, then falling twice as he ran south on Silver Street. The witness lost sight of the male in cover of trees at this point. Officers attempted to locate the male but had negative contact, the report stated. This witness stated that he did not know who the shooter was, and even if he did know, he wouldn't tell Law Enforcement because he is not a snitch.

Officers noticed a green 2000 Kia four-door vehicle belonging to the female witness which had a bullet hole in the driver's side headlight, and also found eight .40-caliber cartridge cases in the sidewalk area on the east side of 1315 N. Gold Street.

Officers issued a heavy frequent patrol for the area for one month. As the case remains under investigation, no further information was available.
