In a short special meeting on May 26, 2020, Grant County commissioners approved two items related to rehabilitation/reconstruction of Grant County Airports aprons and taxiways.

The first item authorized submission of an application for airport aid to the Federal Aviation Administration and to the New Mexico Department of Transportation Aviation Division to pay for 95 percent of the cost of the rehabilitation/reconstruction of the aprons and taxiways at the Grant County Airport. The 5 percent match from the county will come from county bonds.

The sole bidder, Southwest Concrete and Paving, was awarded its bid of $2.296 million to provide the reconstruction of the airport aprons and taxiways.

District 1 Commissioner and Chairman Chris Ponce said he had received notices from people that they had been unable to hear the public comments on the YouTube recording of last week's regular meeting. "I believe that was due to a mandatory Windows update that was going on at the same time. Should we reread the comments at the next meeting?"

County Manager Charlene Webb noted that the regular recording of the meeting in its entirety is posted on the www.grantcountynm.gov website, as are all the meetings. "The entire recording is on the site, including public comments. Only the YouTube video was truncated because of the update on that specific computer."

Commissioners adjourned the meeting.
