Truth or Consequences, NM - The NM Early Childhood Education and Care Department (ECECD) recently announced the creation of an advisory council aimed at guiding the new department as it begins its work. State Representative Rebecca Dow was selected to be on the advisory council made up of various stakeholders in New Mexico early childhood development.

Representative Dow is the only legislator that was selected to sit on the council. Dow has been a lifelong advocate for early childhood development, and launched a successful childcare center in Sierra County. Additionally, another District 38 resident was selected to sit on the council- Terry Anderson, the Executive Director and Project Coordinator for the Community Partnership for Children in Silver City will help the ECECD in its mission.

"Helping New Mexican families through early childhood education has long been a passion of mine and I am proud to serve my community in another facet through the ECECD," said Representative Rebecca Dow (Truth of Consequences). "Having two District 38 residents on the council signals the commitment to our community's children and highlights the work that we are doing for our families."
