On July 25, 2020 at approximately 6:48pm, Grant County Central Dispatch received a 911 call in regards to an All-Terrain-Vehicle (ATV) accident on private property in the Cliff area of Grant County. Both EMS and Grant County Sheriff's Deputies were dispatched immediately.

While enroute, Deputies were advised both a 12-year-old and a 15-year-old child were injured and being transported to Gila Regional Medical Center. Deputies then responded to the scene of the crash and to Gila Regional Medical Center. The 12-year-old child was flown to El Paso, TX. with life-threatening injuries, the 15-year-old child sustained unknown injuries.

At approximately 4:15am, the Grant County Sheriff's Office was notified the 12-year-old child had succumbed to her injuries. The 15-year-old child remains hospitalized. The incident remains under active investigation.
