[Editor's Note: The location of the video below looks more like Western New Mexico University rather than the courthouse. We are waiting on confirmation. Perhaps the bear moved on from the courthouse and was tranquilized at the university.]

On Wednesday, June 23, at about 7 a.m., New Mexico Game and Fish personnel tranquilized a bear which had climbed a tree in the front of the Grant County Courthouse. The bear was transported to an unknown location and released, according to Grant County Regional Dispatch Authority staff.
