SILVER CITY, NEW MEXICO, October 10, 2019. With a 6:30 pm lecture at Parotti Hall, followed by a reception and the opening of her show at 7:30PM at the Francis McCray Gallery of Contemporary Art, WNMU students, area residents, and visitors will get a chance to experience the inimitable Heidi Loewen.

She has also worked in the Chinese and Japanese Division at Sotheby’s NY, and been a curator at the Spring Creek Art Foundation in Boston. In 1995 Heidi Loewen opened her gallery and studio in Santa Fe, down the road from the Georgia O’Keeffe Museum and across the street from the Santa Fe School of Cooking. She will be lecturing on her experience and career as a woman in the arts and exhibiting her porcelain and metal sculptures.

Giada DeLaurentiis from the Food Network, and Samantha Brown from the Travel Network have both learned to throw porcelain with Heidi on their shows. Travel sites consider Heidi’s classes to be a top activity for Santa Fe visitors.
