December 15, at 10:00 am, 3845 North Swan Street – “Preparing for the Holidays”
Rev. Azima Forest will lead a discussion of how people react when they are faced with the holidays. Some look forward to the holidays with joy and gratitude while others confront them with resistance and dread. Rev. Forest said, “We will reflect on what makes the difference and how to get to the good stuff. What do we do out of obligation and old patterns? What brings us joy? Do we have the courage to create change?”
This week there will be a special Children’s Program for those who were not able to attend last Sunday. Chelle Chase, Family Program Director said, “It’s about the gifts we receive, and remembering to be thankful for them, as well as the gifts we give, which are not always material in nature. The most important gifts come from generosity of spirit. We will discuss aspects of giving and receiving gifts, and our arts and crafts will focus on creating gifts and cards for friends and family. In our togetherness, we will endeavor to embody the spirit of Christmas so we may take it with us and keep it throughout the year! As always, the discussion will be followed by arts and crafts or other fun activities! Please feel free to join us!”
There will be coffee and conversation after the service, and visitors are always welcome.
