r. marine leagueRotarian Al Gamboa will speak at the January 21 Silver City Rotary Club meeting about the local Marine Corps League which presents final honors for veterans when they pass away. They provide a 21-gun salute and give the spent shells and a flag to a member of the veteran’s family.  Several other Marine Corps League members will assist in the Rotary presentation.

Rotarian Maggie Veeder is the coordinator for Rotary’s January speakers.

The Silver City Rotary Club meets every Tuesday for lunch in the Sunset Room of the Western New Mexico University Student Cafeteria in the WNMU Student Memorial Building.  Members of the public are welcome to attend any Rotary meeting if the presentation being made is of interest to them. The lunch line opens at noon, the meeting begins at 12:15 p.m. and the presentation begins at 12:30 p.m.  There is no charge for attending the presentation, but if members of the public wish to join Rotarians in their lunch of a hot entrée, salad, and dessert, there is a $10 fee.
