Glenwood, NM, January 22, 2020 -- The Glenwood Ranger District, Gila National Forest will be burning 33 acres of piles at Cedar Breaks, weather and resources permitting. Implementation may occur as early asMonday, January 27 or as late as March 2020. 

The project location is:

Cedar Breaks: US Hwy 180, County 36, Approximately 7 miles north of GlenwoodLegal: T. 10S R. 20W Sec. 15, 28, 33.

Smoke may be visible in the area where the burn is being conducted and may linger at night and early morning, but normally decreases as daytime weather prevails. Smoke may be seen in the area for several days following ignition. Prescribed fire signs will be posted on US Hwy 180 in the vicinity of the burn where smoke will most likely be seen. Additional signs will be posted throughout the burn corridor. Conditions of poor visibility may be present along US Hwy 180.
