Mayor Ken Ladner and Museum Society President Al Gamboa will read The Tortoise & the Jackrabbit by Susan Howell in Spanish and in English.

In this Southwestern rendition of the classic fable, the animals that live in the desert witness the race between slow but steady Tortoise and the quick, overconfident Jackrabbit.

Ken Ladner has been Mayor of Silver City since 2016. Al Gamboa serves as the President of the Silver City Museum Society, and is originally from El Paso.
