Bill Adams, son of Floyde Adams, wanted for people to know about the upcoming silent auction on his dad's cool stuff.

"We're going to try to make this as fun and easy as possible," Bill Adams said. "If you knew my dad, you knew he collected some of the neatest stuff. If it is not in this auction, it probably was never made! It wasn't just cool, it was also high quality. We have projects that will last the rest of us a lifetime and so figured to give everyone else a chance to get some of his neat things you may have had your eye on over the years. Plus, we figured it would be a good way to raise some money for my mom."

It will take place at Floyde's house in Mimbres on Saturday, June 27, starting at 9 a.m. "We anticipate having three end times for different waves of items so that everyone is not trying to pay and leave at the same time. We are still trying to figure out parking since we expect a lot of folks to show up. There is an open area down the road by the big propane tank, but that is a pretty good hike to the house. We have had a few volunteers, but if there are others who want to help and maybe run some sort of hayride/shuttle service with an old tractor, that would be great (just contact me at my dad's old email address at floydeadams@gmail.com. I know some people will want to bring their trailer to haul off their treasures. Those probably ought to be parked off the property somewhere until we can actually load you up."

Floyde's grandson Logan has figured a way to take credit cards on the day of the sale. Cash and personal checks will also be accepted. "No trades, please!"

"We plan on holding the auction rain or shine or governor lock down," Adams said. "No masks required or even desired! We want to see your smiling faces and shake your ungloved hands. My dad would have been appalled at what is going on and no way I'm going to do something he wouldn't want - except, of course, sell all his neat stuff."

Tell anyone you know who might also be interested. "We'll have plenty of cold water, so if you just want to just stop by and say howdy that's great! Come up and have a fun time with us in the mountains of Mimbres."
