Families have entrusted El Grito Head Start (El Grito) for more than 50 years with the care of their children. El Grito understands that children love to learn, and it encourageschildren in their quest for knowledge and skills. El Grito provides social, medical, and mental health and educational services. Educational programs include CPR, safety classes, child development training, Father Power (male involvement training), parental rights and responsibilities.

The Silver City Museum Storytime Series brings to the public children’s stories about the land and people of the Southwest, in a bilingual format. Storytime is designed to engage early readers and their families virtually (in the comfort of your own home) to enjoy reflections on life in our region in English and Spanish. The public can register and attend for free at www.silvercitymuseum.org, and also sign up to receive email notifications of upcoming events. All events are hosted on the platform Zoom, which is easy to use and has a text chat feature. Audience participation is welcome!   

The Museum partners with the Silver City Public Library, which hosts its own Storytime on Wednesday mornings at 10am. The Library encourages families to check it out at www.silvercitypubliclibrary.org under Children’s Activities.
