Gila Regional Medical Center’s future and the latest trends in banking will the subjects for three Rotary Zoom meetings coming up in October.

On October 13, Scott Landrum, interim CEO for Gila Regional Medical Center, will give an update on where GRMC is heading, and on October 20, Alicia Edwards, Grant County Commissioner and interim board chair of GRMC, will talk about the county’s plans for the hospital’s future. On October 27, Mike Martin, CEO and President of Western Banks, will talk about banking trends.

The Silver City Rotary Club meetings take place at noon on Tuesdays. Members of the public are always welcome to attend Rotary meetings when the speaker’s topic is of interest to them.

Since these meetings are currently being held on Zoom, people who are not Rotarians but wish to hear these presentations can access the meetings by sending an email requesting to be included in the pertinent Zoom meeting or by going to http://wp.silvercityrotary.org/contact/contact to fill out and submit the form on there.

Rotary is an organization of business and professional persons united worldwide to provide humanitarian service, encourage high ethical standards in all vocations, and help build peace and goodwill in the world. It is the world’s oldest and largest service organization with more than 1.2 million members in more than 168 countries. Some of the Rotary International Foundation’s ongoing projects are eliminating polio world-wide and bringing clean water systems to remote villages in third world countries. In recent months, the RI Foundation has approved more than 3.7 million dollars in disaster response grants for fighting the Covid-19 pandemic.

Since its founding in 1923, the Silver City Rotary Club has provided support and service to numerous local civic activities and projects.
