SILVER CITY, N.M. — An array of courses is being offered this summer by the Western Institute for Lifelong Learning.

WILL is dishing up 32 courses which include 14 courses on Zoom, seven outdoor courses, two excursions, one hike and eight in the classroom. Many of the classroom courses will be held at Rhoda House on the campus of Western New Mexico University.

These classes will include courses from the Smithsonian Art Museum and Joshua Tree National Park, games, art in the outdoors, local history, golf, mining tours, elder justice and health, just to name a few. Courses will be posted on the WILL website May 14 and registration will be May 21. Make sure to go online and join the Western Institute for Lifelong Learning for a wonderful summer adventure.

If you are not sure what WILL is or does, you can always school yourself by becoming a curriculum committee volunteer. Volunteers are needed to reach out to facilitators and set up courses for each semester. Those with life experiences in the West, experts in the outdoors, biology, anthropology and other areas of mastery are especially needed. Who knows, if you become a volunteer, your actions may lead to an excellent new course.

If you are interested in any of these courses or wish to volunteer, contact Curriculum Committee Chair Phyllis McQuaide at curriculumchair@will.community.
