Julia Fricke Robinson, author of All I Know, will present the latest workshop in The Write Stuff writing series, a 2-hour talk: Keep it Personal: Write a Memoir.

The latest writing workshop in The Write Stuff series will be offered on Saturday, February 11 from 10 AM to Noon, at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Silver City, 3845 N Swan St, Silver City, NM.

From Julia Fricke Robinson: Have you ever thought, "I should write this all down before I forget it all?" Do you just need a little push in the right direction to get started? In a memoir, important experiences and dramatic moments are written in bits and pieces until a theme appears. This perfect way for a novice writer to explore past memories can be cathartic and forgiving but always satisfying and full of surprise. Julia Robinson will give you her insights, share her resources, and cheer you on as you begin. Bring writing materials just in case. You might surprise yourself!

Julia Robinson is a retired school media specialist who wanted her progeny to know her personally, outside of family relationships.

Her intent was that following her process through challenges, disappointments and financial setbacks to retirement in a community of highly-educated, creative, like-minded souls would provide a broader understanding, and possibly, even hope.

The Write Stuff, a program presented by Southwest Word Fiesta and hosted by award-winning author and writing instructor Kris Neri, will share the techniques required for writers to elevate the professionalism of their works. This program will present a series of in-depth writing workshops throughout the year, offered by a some of the most accomplished local authors and instructors on a variety of writing challenges.
