The Patterson Fire burning on private land in Chaves County is currently estimated at 780 acres. The fire is located east of Roswell, NM and west of Bottomless Lakes State Park. One home and Bottomless Lakes State Park remain under evacuation and structures along the east side of the Pecos River are still threatened. The Patterson Fire is burning on both sides of the Pecos River. Approximately 70 personnel from multiple agencies are fighting the fire, which is believed to have been caused by lightning Thursday evening (05/16).
