In all construction zones, motorists are asked to reduce speed, obey posted signs, and use extreme caution, as well as continue to be cautious of heavy equipment and construction personnel in the area.

Interstates: 

I-10, Westbound from mile marker 50 to 42, Lordsburg

Mountain States Construction Co., INC (Contractor) will begin a pavement rehabilitation project to repair the rough roadway on I-10 westbound from milepost 50 to 42. Contractor’s hours of operation will be from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday to Friday.  The NMDOT is diligently working to make repairs to this area as quickly as possible

I-25, Mile Marker 103 to 140, Socorro 

JH Supply (Contractor) will begin replacing the guardrail and end treatments along I-25. Traffic can expect lane closures in the southbound driving lane as the contractor is performing these safety improvements. Contractor’s hours of operation will be from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday to Friday; lane closures and traffic control shall remain in place 24 hours a day 7 days a week. Construction is expected to be completed by spring 2020.  

I-10, Mile Marker 91.7 to 116.0, Deming 

Mountain States Construction Co., INC. (Contractor) will continue roadway rehabilitation along Interstate 10. Multiple lane closures will be in effect on both the westbound and eastbound lanes with an 11’ width restriction as they are performing safety improvements. Contractor’s hours of operation will be from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm Monday to Saturday; lane closures and traffic control shall remain in place 24 hours a day 7 days a week. Construction is expected to be completed by winter 2019.  

I-25, Mile Marker 0 to 7, Las Cruces 

Bixby Electric (Contractor) will be completing installation of fiber for the Intelligent Transportation System (ITS). Lane closures and shoulder work will be in effect on both the northbound and southbound lanes. Hours of operation will be from 6:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday. Construction is expected to be completed by January 2020.  

US Roadways:

US 70, Mile Marker 150, Las Cruces 

Hasse Contracting will continue with bridge preservation construction on US 70. Expect various single and double lane closures on US 70 eastbound and westbound from milepost 150 to 150.915 as well as ramp closures to continue overnight and on weekends. Ramp from West Bataan Memorial to westbound US 70 and northbound I-25 is closed. Detours are available please follow construction signing. Please continue to use caution as roadways and ramps are closed for your protection. Respect traffic control devices, detours are available and follow construction signage for your safety. Construction is expected to be completed by February 2020.  

US 70 Main & Motel Drive, Lordsburg 

Mountain States Construction Co., INC. (Contractor) will continue pavement preservation along Motel Drive from the Flying J Truck Stop to the Loves Truck Stop, approximately 4 miles. As well as on Main Street from the Motel Drive Intersection (US 70) to end of State Maintenance route approximately 1.9 miles. Lane closures will be in effect on both routes with an 11’ width restriction. No parking will be allowed along the roadway during construction. Hours of operation will be from 6:30 am to 5:00 pm, daily this includes weekend work. Construction is expected to be completed by winter 2019. 

State Roadways:

NM 320 “Thorpe Road”, Mile Marker 1, Dona Ana 

The New Mexico Department of Transportation will have employees and equipment on NM 320 “Thorpe Road” under the I-25 interchange at Dona Ana. Shoulder work will be in place as needed for erosion repairs. Construction is expected to be completed by December 20, 2019.

NM 188 Valley Drive/ NM 28 Avenida de Mesilla, Las Cruces

AUI, Inc. (Contractor) is currently performing roadway reconstruction, utility replacements and lighting/signalization improvements on Valley Drive. Currently there is (1) active zone of construction on Valley Drive from Amador to Avenida de Mesilla. All traffic on Valley Drive will be placed in the northbound lanes to allow full reconstruction of the southbound lanes. No left hand turns will be allowed. Sequoia will be close for utility work. Contractor’s hours of operation will be from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday to Friday; lane closures and traffic control shall remain in place 24 hours a day 7 days a week. 

NM 136 “Pete V Domenici Hwy”, Mile Marker 0.448 to 9.168, Santa Teresa 

FNF Construction, INC. (Contractor) continues with roadway reconstruction, roadway rehabilitation, bridge rehabilitation, and signalization & lighting along NM 136, Pete V Domenici Intl. Hwy. Traffic will have an 11’ width restriction with no shoulders.  Traffic from milepost 5.25 (north of Airport Rd.) to 9.379(NM/TX Stateline) will have only one lane open in both northbound and southbound directions through the intersection of NM 136. Starting December 2, 2019 Russell Blvd intersection will be closed with the exception of the right in and out turnouts open. Contractor’s hours of operation will be from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday to Friday, lane closures and traffic control shall remain in place 24 hours a day 7 days a week. 

NM 498 “Racetrack Drive” Mile Marker 0.600 to 0.900, Sunland Park 

Hasse Contracting Co., Inc. (Contractor) construction is currently finalizing bridge construction.  NM 498 is closed from Doniphan Drive to Futurity Drive; detour is in place on Sunland Park Drive. Roadway is scheduled to be reopened on December 13.

NM 273 “McNutt Road” Mile Marker 0 - 3, Sunland Park 

Constructors, Inc. (Contractor) continues with roadway reconstruction, rehabilitation, signalization & lighting along NM 273 “McNutt Rd”. Racetrack road is now closed for continued construction; Sunland Park Drive at McNutt is now open; public will have access to businesses throughout project. Nighttime operations are now in effect in order to minimize impacts to business. The contractor’s hours of operation will be from 6:30 am to 5:30 pm, Monday through Friday. Construction is expected to be completed by winter 2019. 

Las Cruces Projects – City of Las Cruces:

Arroyo Road

From Red Hawk Golf Road to Sonoma Ranch Blvd will be closed to through traffic. Motorists will be asked to decrease speed and follow detours around the construction zone.

Brownlee Avenue

From Fifth Street to Sixth Street will be open to residential traffic only. Access to residents will be maintained at all times. Motorists will be asked to decrease speed, follow the posted detour routes around the construction zone, and should proceed with caution.

Sixth Street

From Hadley to Picacho will be open to residential traffic only. Access to businesses will be maintained at all times. Motorists will be asked to decrease speed, follow the posted detour routes around the construction zone, and should proceed with caution.

Jody Drive

From Richard Drive to Karen Drive will be open to residential traffic only. Access to residents will be maintained at all times. Motorists will be asked to decrease speed, follow the posted detour routes around the construction zone, and should proceed with caution.

Terry Drive

From Richard Drive to Jody Drive will be open to residential traffic only. Access to residents will be maintained at all times. Motorists will be asked to decrease speed, follow the posted detour routes around the construction zone, and should proceed with caution.

Court Avenue

From Miranda St. to Armijo St. will be open to residential traffic only. Access to businesses and residences will be maintained at all times. Motorists will be asked to decrease speed, follow the posted detour routes around the construction zone, and should proceed with caution.
