Homelessness, public safety, affordable housing, and carbon emissions

(ALBUQUERQUE, NM) – Today, the PNM Resources Foundation announced its 3-year commitment of $2.5 million to support some of New Mexico’s biggest challenges of reducing homelessness, increasing public safety, increasing access to affordable housing, and reducing carbon emissions. The investment will be made through nonprofit grants across New Mexico that focus on improving these key impact areas.

“New Mexico is a great place to be, but it is no secret that we have areas that need improving,” said Laurie Roach, PNM Resources Foundation executive director. “Supporting the efforts of nonprofits is part of our shared responsibility to better this state and there is no time like the present to move New Mexico forward.”

The company’s commitment to moving the state forward is more than providing electricity. The PNM Resources Foundation believes investing in the state’s communities helps New Mexico’s future shine brighter. The Foundation believes supporting nonprofits that make an impact in these key areas will begin to address these challenges and move the state in the right direction.

The PNM Resources Foundation has awarded more than $25 million in the past seven years to nonprofit organizations. Since 1983, the PNM Resources Foundation has helped improve the quality of life in New Mexico by supporting nonprofit organizations. The PNM Resources Foundation is a separate, nonprofit, tax exempt corporation governed by a board of trustees comprised of PNM Resources employees.
