“Mardi Gras in the Rockies"”

New Mexico Ski Resort Bringing Gyth Rigdon, Star of The Voice, for Live Performance

ANGEL FIRE, NM - (February 11, 2020) – No need to travel to New Orleans to celebrate this year’s Mardi Gras. Angel Fire Resort is announcing a five-day festival of events surrounding Fat Tuesday at the northern New Mexico destination. “Mardi Gras in the Rockies” will focus on family-friendly activities, including parades, crawfish boils, mask making, movies, and plenty of live music from Louisiana bands, including a concert from Gyth Rigdon. Gyth, who’s from Singer, Louisiana, and was the second runner up on “The Voice” in 2019, will perform a live concert on Fat Tuesday, February 25, 2020.

FAMILY-FRIENDLY CELEBRATION

“The best part of celebrating Mardi Gras here at Angel Fire Resort is you get all of the festivities of the Louisiana holiday, but without the chaos of The French Quarter,” stated Greg Ralph, director of marketing, Angel Fire Resort. “Our goal is to bring the best of Fat Tuesday – the costumes, beads, parades, live music, and Cajun-inspired food but in a clean family-friendly, beautiful, ski mountain environment.”

Angel Fire Resort will host the five-day “Mardi Gras in the Rockies” from Friday, February 21 – Wednesday, February 26.  Along with plenty of skiing, snowboarding, tubing, night skiing, and sledding, the resort will host live Louisiana bands every night at The Village Haus and Chiantis, as well as family-friendly movies in the Lodge at Angel Fire Resort.  There will be a Kids Parade, mask-making, a Nerf Gun War, a crawfish boil, a King’s Cake Pancake Breakfast, and a town parade with floats.

LIVE CONCERT WITH “THE VOICE” STAR GYTH RIGDON

As part of the Fat Tuesday celebration, Angel Fire Resort is excited to announce they’re bringing in Louisiana’s most recent singing star, Gyth Rigdon. Gyth competed on NBC’s “The Voice” as part of Blake Shelton’s team. Coming in second place, Gyth has spent the last year on the road doing live shows. He’s shared the stage with Jake Owen, and Gary Allen. He’ll do a live concert at the Angel Fire Community Center on February 25 at 6:30 pm. Proceeds from the concert and the coinciding Jambalaya dinner will benefit Music from Angel Fire, the first chamber music festival in New Mexico designed to serve the artistic needs of rural northern New Mexico communities.
