In all construction zones, motorists are asked to reduce speed, obey posted signs, and use extreme caution, as well as continue to be cautious of heavy equipment and construction personnel in the area.

Interstates: 

I-25 & University Ave, south of University Ave Exit Ramp, Las Cruces***SUNDAY***

The New Mexico Department of Transportation will have crews and equipment on the northbound right driving lane of I-25 just before the I-25/University interchange for guardrail and fence repairs. To minimize impacts to traffic this work will be completed on Sunday morning from 7:00 am until 12:00 pm. The off ramp will remain open to University Avenue. I-25 northbound passing left lane will continue to have a lane closure for the ongoing construction project, use caution as roadway will be congested in the area. 

I-25 & University Ave, Mile Marker 1, Las Cruces 

La Calerita Construction, LLC (Contractor) will be continuing roadwork on I-25 and University. Extended through about Friday, Feb. 28, 2020, crews will continue constructing a bridge pier in the median. During this work, northbound I-25 will have the left lane closed and will be reduced to one lane from about 500 feet north of the I-25/University Bridge to about 1,000 feet south of the Bridge. Southbound I-25: Two lanes of traffic are open, but traffic is being shifted to the left north of the southbound I-25 off-ramp. Motorists should watch for trucks turning in this area. Traffic is also shifted left from the southbound I-25 off-ramp to University for storm drainage work and construction of the new southbound I-25 on-ramp. University Avenue: Two lanes are open in each direction (eastbound and westbound), but the westbound lanes have been shifted to the south near I-25 to allow additional room for crews to work on bridge construction. Continuing work on I-25 northbound on ramp on westbound University Ave., work taking place on the shoulder. Regular work hours will be Monday through Saturday from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm, traffic control will remain in place 24/7. Questions or concerns: Visit www.i25-university.com.

I-25, Mile Marker 103 to 140, Socorro 

JH Supply (Contractor) will continue replacing the guardrail and end treatments along I-25. Traffic can expect lane closures in the southbound driving right lane as the contractor is performing these safety improvements. Overnight lanes closures can be expected at milepost 132 and at 119.8. Hours of operation will be from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Saturday. Construction is expected to be completed by spring 2020.  

I-25, Mile Marker 0 to 7, Las Cruces 

Bixby Electric (Contractor) will have a lane closure in effect on I-25 southbound from milepost 5 to 4 for the installation of a new overhead Dynamic Messaging System (DMS). The DMS is a way from travelers to obtain road advisory information in a timely manner. Please expect delays and take an alternate route if possible. Closure will be in effect daily from 9:00 am until 3:00 pm, due to inclement weather extended to February 27, 2020.  

I-25, Mile Marker 7 to 8, Las Cruces

The New Mexico Department of Transportation will have crews and equipment on the southbound right driving lane of I-25. Monday through Friday from 8:00 am until 3:00 pm daily for the placement of a pipe rundown and rock placement to alleviate erosion in the area. Construction is expected to be completed by March 31, 2020.   

US Roadways:

US 180, Mile Marker 164 to 142, Deming to Silver City 

The New Mexico Department of Transportation will have maintainers and equipment on US 180 from milepost 164 (Deming) to milepost 142 (Luna/Grant County line). This will be in preparation for the roadway reconstruction project scheduled to begin March 2020. Traffic can expect a pilot car and flagging operation Monday through Friday from 7:30 am until 3:30 pm daily. 

US 70, Mile Marker 159, Las Cruces 

Hasse Contracting Co., (Contractor) will have a lane closures in effect on US 70 on both eastbound and westbound lanes at milepost 159 for bridge deck repairs over Brahman Road and at milepost 151 westbound at Roadrunner Pkwy. The speed limit will be reduced for the safety of the crew. Closure will begin on Monday 24, 2020 with roadwork expected to be completed by February 26, 2020, weather pending. Hours of operation will be from 7:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. The NMDOT would like to thank you for your patience during this project.

US 60, Mile Marker 92 to 138, Socorro 

JH Supply (Contractor) will begin replacing signage along US 60. Traffic can expect shoulder work as needed.  Contractor’s hours of operation will be from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday to Friday. Construction is expected to be completed by spring 2020.  

State Roadways:

NM 186, Mile Marker 0 to 1.1, Anthony, NM

The New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT) along with NMSU will be conducting bridge load testing on NM 186 (W O’Hara Rd) from milepost 0 to 1.1.  Through traffic along NM 186 will have a detour in place. Closures will be from 7:00 am until 5:30 pm, starting on February 26, 2020 to Friday February 28, 2020, opening to traffic overnight. 

Pine & Gold  Street Intersection, Deming 

A-Mountain Construction (Contractor) will be finishing repairs to the sidewalk, curb and ramps to include ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) improvements by February 25, 2020 at the intersection of Pine & Gold Street in Deming. Pine and Gold Street will remain open during construction with the exception of temporary lane closure for equipment to remove and replace concrete. Traffic control will be in place for the safety of our construction workers. Construction hours will be Monday through Tuesday from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm. 

NM 188 Valley Drive/ NM 28 Avenida de Mesilla, Las Cruces

AUI, Inc. (Contractor) is currently performing roadway reconstruction, utility replacements and lighting/signalization improvements on Valley Drive. Currently there is (1) active zone of construction on Valley Drive from Amador to Avenida de Mesilla. All traffic on Valley Drive will be placed in the southbound lanes to allow full reconstruction of the northbound lanes. No left hand turns will be allowed. Contractor’s hours of operation will be from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday to Friday; lane closures and traffic control shall remain in place 24 hours a day 7 days a week. Visit www.valleydrive.net

NM 136 “Pete V Domenici Hwy”, Mile Marker 0.448 to 9.168, Santa Teresa 

FNF Construction, INC. (Contractor) continues with roadway reconstruction, roadway rehabilitation, bridge rehabilitation, and signalization & lighting along NM 136, Pete V Domenici Intl. Hwy. Traffic will have an 12’ width restriction.  Traffic from milepost 5.25 (north of Airport Rd.) to 9.379(NM/TX Stateline) will have only one lane open in both northbound and southbound directions through the intersection of NM 136. Russell Blvd intersection will continue to be closed. NM 273 has two lanes open northbound and southbound. Various lane closures will be in place at Airport Road intersection throughout February. Contractor’s hours of operation will be from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday to Friday, lane closures and traffic control shall remain in place 24 hours a day 7 days a week. 

NM 273 “McNutt Road” Mile Marker 0 - 3, Sunland Park 

Constructors, Inc. (Contractor) continues with roadway reconstruction, rehabilitation, signalization & lighting along NM 273 “McNutt Rd”. Racetrack Road is closed for continued construction with a detour on Sunland Park Drive, Anapra Rd. is closed during SB Lane construction on NM 273; public will have access to businesses throughout project. The contractor’s hours of operation will be from 6:30 am to 5:30 pm, Monday through Friday. Construction is expected to be completed by spring 2020. 

Las Cruces Projects – City of Las Cruces:

Third Street

From Van Patten to Picacho will be open to residential traffic only.  Access to businesses will be maintained at all times. Motorists will be asked to decrease speed, follow the posted detour routes around the construction zone, and should proceed with caution.

Karen Drive

From Dona Ana Rd. to dead end will be open to residential traffic only.  Access to residents will be maintained at all times. Motorists will be asked to decrease speed, follow the posted detour routes around the construction zone, and should proceed with caution.

Court Avenue

From Armijo St. to Alameda will be open to residential traffic only.  Access to businesses and residences will be maintained at all times. Motorists will be asked to decrease speed, follow the posted detour routes around the construction zone, and should proceed with caution.

Alameda Boulevard 

From Las Cruces Ave. to Hadley will have alternating lane closures.  Access to businesses and residences will be maintained at all times. Motorists will be asked to decrease speed, follow the posted detour routes around the construction zone, and should proceed with caution.

El Paso Projects – Go 10/Border West Expressway
