The Lumberton Fire burning on private land in Rio Arriba County is now 75% contained and remains estimated at 434 acres. Evacuation orders were lifted Wednesday. Smoke may be seen as interior pockets of fuel continue to burn. Firefighters will continue to mop up hot spots and strengthen containment lines. Full containment is expected Saturday, May 16 by 6:00 p.m. The fire started Sunday, May 10th. The cause is under investigation. This will be the last notification for the Lumberton Fire unless there are significant changes.
