In all construction zones, motorists are asked to reduce speed, obey posted signs, and use extreme caution, as well as continue to be cautious of heavy equipment and construction personnel in the area.

Interstates: 

I-25 & University Ave, Mile Marker 1, Las Cruces 

La Calerita Construction, LLC (Contractor) will be continuing roadwork on I-25 and University The northbound I-25 loop ramp is CLOSED until further notice. Triviz Drive is CLOSED from Arrowhead Drive to Stewart Street so crews can work on the south roundabout. Motorists can use Stewart Street and Arrowhead Drive to access S. Triviz Drive, University Avenue and the parking lots during this closure. This work is expected to take about 3 months. Regular work hours will be Monday through Saturday from 7:00 am to 5:30 pm, traffic control will remain in place 24/7. Questions or concerns: visit www.i25-university.com.  

I-10, Mile Marker 44 to 55, between Deming and Lordsburg  

Mountain States Construction, Inc. (Contractor) has begun a pavement preservation project on I-10 from milepost 44 to milepost 55 (Quincy).  Traffic can expect various daytime lane closures on the westbound lanes as well as overnight lane closures as needed. Contractor’s hours of operation will be from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm Monday through Friday. Construction is expected to be completed fall of 2020. 

I-25, Mile Marker 174, north of Socorro

Hasse Contracting Co., (Contractor) will have a lane closures in effect on I-25 on both northbound and southbound lanes for bridge deck repairs at mileposts 174 north of Socorro. The speed limit will be reduced for the safety of the crew. Hours of operation will be from 7:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.

I-25, Business Loop, Socorro, CN 

Structures Inc., (Contractor) will be continuing with construction on the I-25 Business Loop in Socorro. The Socorro North exit 150 off ramp will be closed for bridge deck repairs. Please follow construction detour signage. Use caution as the contractor will be placing rip rap on slope shoulders, lane closure will be in place as needed on I-25. Contractor’s hours of operation will be from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm Monday to Friday. 

I-10, Mile Marker 49, Deming Area

Kimo Constructors, Inc. (Contractor) will be continuing bridge replacement and roadway reconstruction on NM 146 “Hatchita Bridge” at I-10 milepost 49. The Bridge is CLOSED; detour will be in place on the frontage road, Separ exit 42 and frontage road, Quincy exit 55. Traffic has been switched into the eastbound lanes as bridge construction begins. An 11 foot width restriction will be in place. Contractor’s hours of operation will be from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday to Friday; lane closures and traffic control shall remain in place 24 hours a day 7 days a week.

US Roadways:

US 180, Mile Marker 120 to 123, Santa Clara

James Hamilton Construction Company (Contractor) has begun the installation of the pedestrian trail to included lighting, signage and crosswalk. US 180 will have a lane closures on the eastbound and westbound right driving lanes with a reduced speed to 35 mph; traffic control will be in place for the safety of our construction workers. Contractor hours of operation will be Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. till 5:00 p.m. This project is estimated to be completed by the end of November 2020.

State Roadways:

California Street Paving Project, Socorro

Cutler Repaving (Contractor) will be continuing with pavement rehabilitation project on California Street from exit 147 to exit 150. Traffic can expect various daytime lane closures with short term detours in place as needed.  Contractor’s hours of operation will be from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm Monday through Saturday. Construction is expected to be completed fall of 2020. 

NM 15, Mile Marker 14 to 16, Pinos Altos

The New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT) will be performing blade-patching operations on NM 15 from milepost 14 to 16, with a flagging operation in place. This closure will be in effect Monday through Thursday, until August 27, 2020 from 7:00 am until 4:00 pm. 

NM 11 and Broadway Ave, NM 9 and Main St, Columbus

Deming Excavation Inc. (Contractor) will have a lane closures and shoulder work on the intersections of NM 11 and Broadway Ave, Main St. and NM 9 for reconstruction. Construction is scheduled to be completed by September 18, 2020. The speed limit is reduced for the safety of the crew, access and turning restrictions will be in place. Hours of operation will be from 6:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.

NM 187 “El Camino Real”, Mile Marker 15.4 to 16.09, Arrey 

Hasse Contacting Company, Inc. (Contractor) has begun the replacement of Bridges located in Arrey. The first bridge is located at milepost 15.4 near the Caballo Dairy; the second bridge is located at milepost 16.09 near Agua Fria Road over the Montoya Arroyo. Both bridges have a detoured bypass at their locations; a 12 foot width restriction will be in place. Contractor’s hours of operation will be from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday to Friday; lane closures and traffic control shall remain in place 24 hours a day 7 days a week. 

Hatch Safety Improvement Project, NM 26 

Hasse Contacting Company, Inc. (Contractor) will continue roadway improvement project along NM 26 in Hatch. Road Improvements will begin with the replacement and upgrade of sidewalk, curb and gutter and ramps to include ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) accommodations. Sidewalks will be detoured in areas for construction and the safety of the public. Contractor has also began paving along NM 26, watch for heavy equipment on roadway, reduce speeds, lane closures and flagging operations. Contractor hours will be Monday through Friday from 7:00 am until 5:00 pm daily. 

Chip Seal Projects, Socorro Co:

The New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT) will be performing “Chip Sealing” with Brooming operations in Socorro Co. near Magdalena.  Speed limits will be reduced, no center stripe with loose gravel on roadway. Traffic will encounter lane drops with pilot car and flagging operations.    

Roadways affected will be:

NM 169 from milepost 0 to 35 will have daily traffic control in place for Chip Sealing operations. 

Frontage Road 2038, 2039, 2040, 2041, 2042, 2043, 2044, 2046, 2049, 2050, 2051, 2052, NM 1, NM 408, NM 166, NM 107 and NM 52 have been completed, continue to use caution as roadway is not striped, speed reduced with possible loose gravel on roadway.  

Las Cruces Projects – City of Las Cruces:

Nevada Avenue 

From Walnut to Lees will have road work, access to businesses and residences will be maintained at all times.  Motorists will be asked to decrease speed, follow the posted detour routes around the construction zone, and should proceed with caution.
