Reduce Your Use grants help nonprofits spend less on electric bills and more on providing essential services

(Albuquerque, N.M.) – Today, the PNM Resources Foundation announced the recipients of its 2020 Reduce Your Use grants providing a total of $220,000 to nonprofits throughout New Mexico to help complete projects that reduce their energy use and lower their electric bills. Funded projects include efficient lighting, solar panel installations, updating heating and cooling systems, window coverings, ceiling fans, energy saving appliances, and much more. The completion of these projects will not only save energy and money, but will also mean a cleaner, healthier environment for their clients and staff.

“We recognize this year’s pandemic hardships meant many nonprofits had to put their planned energy efficiency projects on hold while reserving funds to provide their essential services to the community,” said Laurie Roach, PNM Resources Foundation director.

“Receiving these Reduce Your Use grants means nonprofits save money on their electric bills, reduce energy use, and reduce carbon emissions while fulfilling their mission in the community.”
