This summer, 30 teenagers will be granted the opportunity to learn the management skills behind ranching at the New Mexico Youth Ranch Management Camp conducted by New Mexico State University’s College of Agricultural, Consumer and Environmental Sciences.

Previously, NM Youth Ranch Management Camp only accepted in-state students but is now reserving three of the 30 slots for out-of-state students. Youth ages 15 to 19 years old can apply for the educational experience held from June 13-18 where they will receive college-level instruction in how to manage a ranch, including financial statements, marketing strategies, producing quality beef and managing natural resources and wildlife.

The camp is located at the CS Cattle Company’s 130,000-acre ranch near Cimarron, New Mexico.

The deadline to apply is April 16. Once accepted, a fee of $300 is required to cover a portion of the participants expenses at camp. To register, visit https://nmyrm.nmsu.edu/nmyrmc-app.html

Scholarship opportunities are available. Upon acceptance, students can contact a New Mexico Youth Ranch Management Camp committee member for additional information.
