PNM offers help to the families experiencing devastating loss

(Albuquerque, N.M.) – Today, following the tragic balloon incident over the weekend, PNM announced it would be making a total donation of $100,000 to the families of the victims to help support them while the state mourns the loss of 5 New Mexicans.

“Everyone at PNM has been absolutely devastated by Saturday’s tragic ballooning incident,” said Pat Vincent- Collawn, Chairman, President and CEO of PNM Resources. “Oftentimes, people don’t know what to do following such a tragedy, but they want to do something. That is the position PNM found ourselves in as well. Many PNM employees are lifelong native New Mexicans, and ballooning is part of our state’s pride and joy. On behalf of everyone at PNM, we extend our deepest sympathies to the families, and every single one of us is here for you.”

Last weekend’s loss has been unbearable for many, and we at PNM want the victims’ families to know that we care, and we are here for them in this difficult time of pain. We hope this donation will take away some financial worries for the families to focus on the memories that their loved ones left on so many hearts.

PNM is in direct contact with the victims’ families to express our deepest condolences. The families will decide where they want to use the money, whether it be to offset funeral planning expenses, medical, or other related expenses. The donation will be made directly to the families. No customer dollars were used in this donation.
