Unique Program to Recruit Qualified Veterans to Fill Behind-the-Scenes Film/TV Production Jobs in New Mexico

SANTA FE, N.M. – The New Mexico Department of Veterans Services (DVS) and the New Mexico Film Office (NMFO) will host a re-scheduled Operation Sound Stage (OSS) “Lunch & Learn” online presentation on December 6 to discuss ways New Mexico veterans can get involved in the state’s film and television industry.

Interested veterans can join this discussion from 9am-11am via the following Zoom link: https://us06web.zoom.us/j/87271860055?pwd=RkVyUlJFaGtvU1o5czlwRG5JTFNIQT09

NMFO staff will provide an overview of OSS--a workforce development initiative through the NMFO’s Film Crew Advancement Program that may offer exciting and well-paying film and TV production jobs here in New Mexico that may match the skill sets of veterans.

OSS also provides a fast track to film industry union membership, offering waived initiation fees and requirement hours for industry technical unions IATSE Local 480 and Teamsters 492.

The lunch and learn series organized by DVS is an opportunity for veterans to learn about innovative programs and services available to them and their families.
