We're excited to announce the 11th Annual Silver City CLAY Festival, July 11-17, 2022. Returning in-person with exciting workshops, lectures, and fan-favorite events, Stay tuned!

Founded in 2011 by Lee Gruber, the CLAY Festival celebrates and explores interpretations of clay, mud, and earth as the common ground of New Mexico's culture and history.

CLAY Festival gathers artists, collectors, educators, and families for a week-long series of events to explore clay in its many forms as well as its impact on our history, present, and future.

Each year, internationally acclaimed artists are invited to contribute to the dialogue of clay craft, host workshops, lectures, as well as jury the annual exhibition during the festival, this year titled Reflections in CLAY.

CALL FOR ARTISTS

The 11th Annual Silver City CLAY Festival presents Reflections in CLAY, an International Juried Exhibition at Light Art Space, Silver City, New Mexico.

We are living in a time of challenging global events. Thoughtful and constructive examination of self and the world around us is called for, as we attempt to progress and move forward.

Artists can translate the world around them through innovative and creative processes, creating work that communicates distinctive perspectives and experiences for an individual and the world.

Reflections in CLAY calls for ceramic artwork, representative of individual viewpoints which examine and help to define our recent environments.

Deadline to submit: May 31st, 2022.

Introducing Alexa Tubbs,
CLAY Festival Project Coordinator

Greetings! As a recent transplant to Silver City, New Mexico, I join the CLAY Festival after working in the New York City art world, thru-hiking the Appalachian Trail and Continental Divide Trail, I'm interested in bringing people together through community and cultural events, spending time outdoors, and enjoying a craft beer with my partner, Matt.

I look forward to making this year's event a great success and enjoyable for all. Please feel free to reach out to say hello or ask any questions!

Sincerely,
Alexa Tubbs
