Taos, Meow Wolf & Carlsbad Caverns National Park make Travel Lemming’s list of 150 best things to do in the USA this summer.

Denver (May 24, 2022) - Three New Mexico attractions have been named among the 150 best things to do in the United States this summer by Travel Lemming. The list highlights the online travel guide team’s picks for the most exciting summer attractions and destinations around the country.

Three New Mexico attractions made the list of 150 things to do:

  • #4 - Taos
  • #30 - Meow Wolf
  • #52 - Carlsbad Caverns National Park

Ranked #4, the article describes “the high desert town of Taos, New Mexico” as a place where “[s]outhwest soul is around every corner.” The artistic community is celebrated “in the town’s 70+ galleries” featuring “Native American crafts and fine art.”

Adding to her experience visiting Taos, Travel Lemming editor Abigail Nueve said, “The outdoor spaces, cultural experiences, and incredible art are all wonderful. But in my opinion, what makes Taos a stand-out destination is the kindness of its locals.”

Taking the #30 slot on the list, the article states that Meow Wolf is a place where “[y]our imagination is sure to run wild.” The “interdimensional art experience” features “immersive installations [that] will transport you to an otherworldly fantasy realm, and perhaps leave you scratching your head and wondering what you just saw.”

Of Meow Wolf, Travel Lemming CEO Nate Hake commented, “Meow Wolf is one of those things that’s hard to describe, but impossible to forget.”

Praising Carlsbad Caverns National Park, Travel Lemming writer Jasmine Pettitt described the destination as “enchanting, awe-inspiring, and humbling all at once. The overwhelming silence in the caverns allows you to reflect and contemplate life as you take it all in.”

The inaugural edition of the publication’s signature summer list was selected by Travel Lemming’s team of two dozen writers and editors.

Hake said: “This summer is shaping up to be a pivotal one for the tourism and hospitality industry. With so much on the line for the future of travel, we decided to put a special spotlight on the 150 things our team feels are especially worth attention from travelers this summer.”

Travel Lemming is an online travel guide with more than a half-million monthly readers across the United States and Canada. It is known for its focus on encouraging travelers to go “off the lemming path.”
