WASHINGTON – Today Rep. Mayra Flores delivered her inaugural speech on the floor of the House of Representatives, following her stunning victory in Texas' 34th District.

Rep. Flores, the first Mexican-born Congresswoman in US history, devoted her first speech to supporting Rep. Herrell's PAUSE Act, which would preserve Title 42 health protections at the US Border.

"As an outspoken community leader and the wife of a heroic Border Patrol agent, Rep. Flores knows that Hispanic Americans--and Americans of all backgrounds--want a secure country, less crime, and more prosperity," said Rep. Herrell. "I'm honored that she kicked off her Congressional career by supporting my PAUSE Act, and I can't wait to work with Mayra to achieve victories for hard-working families from New Mexico to Texas. Border ladies get it done!"
