PNM to expand internship program by creating a coalition of businesses and universities throughout New Mexico,

supporting economic development by helping to keep skilled New Mexicans employed in the state

(Albuquerque, N.M.) – Today, PNM and The University of New Mexico Anderson School of Management announced a partnership focused on facilitated student internships, student projects, and regional innovation that will provide equitable opportunities for college students to work in diverse workplaces, solving real-world challenges. PNM will expand the program by creating a coalition of businesses throughout the state, increasing the New Mexico economy by helping keep skilled New Mexico college graduates employed in state. 

“Our solid partnership with The University of New Mexico Anderson School of Management paves the way for forming a coalition of businesses all over New Mexico to help college students with their long-term career success and also increasing economic development by supporting New Mexico businesses with local skilled workforce,” said Becky Teague, PNM Vice President of Human Resources.

“Working together to create increased access to quality education and local job opportunities is critical to New Mexico’s future.”

To participate in this program, students must be enrolled in the UNM Anderson School of Management and can apply for the internship through Handshake, UNM’s campus-wide online job and internship database.
