martinez 02Jesus E. Martinez, 79, a resident of Las Cruces, NM entered eternal rest Monday, June 29, 2020 at his residence surrounded by his family.  Jesus was born in Clint Texas on November 9, 1940 and at an early age his family moved to Santa Rita New Mexico. 

His favorite pastime was grilling pork chops and ribs and making his signature salsa for his family and close friends, while enjoying his drink of choice Miller High Life. 

His all-time favorite hobby was making furniture of all sorts when he wasn’t watching the “Virginian” and “Gunsmoke”. 

Jesus was also an avid New Mexico State University Aggies sports and Dallas Cowboys “His Boys” fan. Jesus truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures. Spending time with his grandchildren was one of his favorite pastimes. He will be dearly missed

 He is survived by his loving wife Natalia G. Martinez of the family home; one son, Moises Martinez of Eric, CO; one daughter, Amy Baca and husband Herman of Silver City; four grandchildren, Sarah Martinez, Sonia Martinez, Lori Baca, and Josh Baca; four brothers, Abran Martinez of Las Cruces; Joe Martinez of Socorro, TX; Guadalupe Martinez and wife Rosemary of Silver City; Larry Martinez and wife Sandra of Silver City; three sisters, Dolores Rodriguez of Silver City; Rita Arellano of Silver City; Mary Martinez of CA; a very special brother in-law, Alfredo Gonzalez; a very special friend, Belinda Benavidez.  He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Antonia Gloria and Valentina Martinez. A Memorial mass will be celebrated Monday, July 6 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church 1240 S. Espina St. Las Cruces, NM 88001 officiated by Father Bill McCann. Concluding service and inurnment will follow at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Columbarium. COVID-19 restrictions are still at 25% capacity with social distancing and face masks required. Cremation has taken place at Terrazas Crematory. Arrangements are with Terrazas Funeral Chapels and Crematory “Trusted care for the ones you love” ~ 575-537-0777.
