duran 01Gilbert Duran, 71, born March 20, 1941 in Deming, NM. Gilbert went home to his Lord surrounded by his family on August 15, 2020 in Tucson, AZ. Raised in Deming, Gilbert lived
his life in New Mexico. Working as a route man for both Coke and Pepsi and later NM Beverage, Gil always had a smile and a handshake. Between careers as a salesman he was a
Journeyman Electrician at Kennecott Copper Mines. In addition to his professional work he was also a guitarist, an avid reader and a collector of so many things, including photos of his many friends, compadres, family and all his cars.

duran 02He is survived by his loving wife Dolores of the family home; two sons, Gilbert Joe Duran
(Margaret) of Phoenix, AZ; Michael Flores Duran of Tucson, AZ; two daughters, Sylvia Ana
Duran of Tucson, AZ; Lisa Duran Henderson (Scott) of Tucson, AZ; one granddaughter, Aimee
Duran of Orlando, FL; five sisters, Kathy Morales (Santos) of Deming; Lucille Arvizo (Eppi) of
Glendale, AZ; Jean Aguilar (Rey) of Palmdale, CA; Gloria Flores of Glendale, AZ; and Cindee
Contreras (Mario) of Chandler, AZ.

He was preceded in death by his mother Charlene Duran Palos and parents Alfredo and Stella
Duran Torres; two brothers, Ernesto Torres and Sammy Torres Jr., four sisters, Priscilla Reade,
Charlene Contreras, Sandra Chavez, and Olivia Flores.

No Visitation will be held. The holy rosary being recited by Dr. Gilbert Arizaga will begin at
6pm at Terrazas Funeral Chapels. The funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, August 29 at 10am at Infant Jesus Shrine with Father Casmir Anozie officiating. Pallbearers will be Julian
Flores, Frederico D. Reade, Teresa T. Rodriguez, Rachel Torres, David F. Wood, Daniel
Montez. Honorary pallbearers are Bonne Arrey, George Courage, Henry Ensico, Fred Reade Sr., Gilbert Montoya, and Manuel “Sonny” Lujan. In lieu of flowers family requests donations be made to the “Lupus and National Multiple Sclerosis Society in honor of Gilbert’s daughters. Concluding service, cremation will follow. Inurnment will be in Deming at a later date. During the pandemic we ask that you send virtual condolences, the family will not be receiving visitors. Please pray for peace and a time when we can come together.
Cremation will take place at Terrazas Crematory. Arrangements are with Terrazas Funeral
