Deborah “Debbie” Chapin, 63, a resident of Silver City, NM entered eternal rest Wednesday, August 26, 2020 at UNM Sandoval Regional in Albuquerque, NM. She was born May 23, 1957 in Gila, NM to Luthor Lewis and Olivia Ogas Lewis. Debbie loved spending time with her family, especially her sister Denise. She loved her Fur
babies Meiko Zoe and Tubby.  She enjoyed going to the casino with her kids any chance she got. She like going for rides-to the lake or river and being home most of all. She loved the sound of thunder while she slept and the smell of the rain. Her favorite foods were enchiladas and salad. She also loved having her coffee and a cigarette first thing in the morning while sitting on her favorite chair.

She is survived by two sons, Joshua R. Chapin and wife Mikela of Albuquerque; Jerome I. Chapin and companion Stephanie Gallegos of Albuquerque; two daughters, Chastidy K. Chapin and companion Stephanie Sanchez; Crystal R. Baca and husband Bobby; twelve grandchildren; Rudy III, Dylan, Alysa, Alex, Khloe, Rick, Nicholas, Danielle, Zaiden, Brian, David, and Keanne; seven brothers, Leroy Lewis of Silver City; Billy Ray Lewis and wife Debbie of Silver City; Jerry Lewis of Las Cruces; Rick Lewis and Anna Reyes of Las Cruces; Alfred Lewis and wife Roseann of Silver City; Patrick Lewis of Silver City; Ronnie Lewis of Silver City; Rudy III, Dylan, Alysa, Alex, Khloe, Rick, Nicholas, Danielle, Zaiden, Brian, David, and Keanne; one sister, Denise Jaurequi and husband Ruben of Arenas Valley. She was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband Rudy L. Chapin Jr. (1999); one brother, Jay Lewis.

Visitation will be Tuesday, September 1 from 5-6pm at Terrazas Funeral Chapels with the holy rosary being recited by Deacon Art Gutierrez to begin at 6pm. The funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, September 2 at 10am at Santa Clara Catholic Church. Concluding service and interment will follow at Santa Clara Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Leroy, Billy Ray, Jerry, Alfred, Ronnie, Rick, and Patrick Lewis, Ruben Jaurequi. Honorary pallbearers are Keanne Spears, David Sanchez, Rudy Chapin III, Alex Baca, Dillan Chapin, and Laura Sias.
