moore 03John Wren Moore passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on September 21, 2020. John was born in Bisbee, AZ on January 21, 1942 to Cecil Clyde Moore and Faye Crystal Hardt. He attended school in Bisbee, Arizona thru his senior year; but quit at 17 to join the Army. During his Army career he spent a year in South Korea before being honorably discharged. On his return to Bisbee, he began his career in Phelps Dodge Corp at the Copper Queen Branch. In 1966 he married Carol Payne and they had two daughters, Kelly born in 1967 and Vicky in 1969. When the mine in Bisbee shut down the family moved to Tyrone, NM where he continued his career.

He retired as a boilerman after 40 years of service in 2002. His retirement years were spent going to car shows with his hot rods, watching car racing on TV and at Mesilla Valley Raceway and mostly following his grandchildren around cheering them on in their many activities including track, basketball, drama productions and rodeos. John was loving, considerate, supportive father and grandfather. He could be counted on for anything you needed and was always ready to help. Although in declining health his last years he still enjoyed getting together with his buddies for coffee every morning and on Sundays at Burger Time to talk cars. He was a great reader and spent hours every day reading Westerns and adventures and before his health failed loved to walk at the track. John is survived by his daughters, Kelly (Brian) and Vicky (Keven); grandchildren, Erin, Tim, Carolyn, Molly and Taylor; great grandchildren, Mia and Aiden. He is also survived by ex-wife Carol, his brother, Ernie Owens (Dale) and sister in-law Carol Moore (Arlie) and nieces and nephews, Andrea Moore, Deanne Moore Green and Steve and Chuck Owens. He was preceded in death by his mother and father and older brother Lee. A Memorial service will be celebrated on Saturday, September 26 at 11am at Terrazas Funeral Chapel being officiated by family.
